City of Bones Owner Comment
Also Owns CQBT, CQBT Ghost, Combat Folder and the MELODY LEAF
I can hardly consider myself a member of the warrior class but Dave's blades certainly make me feel like one. His highly artistic blades and Sheri's beautiful sheaths have made friends and colleagues' mouths water but are also amazed at the blades' strength and durability. Dave's blog site was the first page I ever visited; before his knife collection caught my eye and his articles very insightful... I met Dave on Twitter and caught a link to one of his projects; a battle axe and I thought: "Who makes that stuff?" After chatting over old world knives - my Corsican ancestry and his Basque ancestry - we hit it off but I hadn't acquired a knife just yet.
Later on I became the proud owner of the 001 City of Bones - featured on this site - which scared the hell out of me when I took it out of its box. That thing can slice frozen meat like
butter and possibly a jihadi or two if necessary. I've been working in Iraq for several years and other than the K-bar I carried in the field as a Corpsman and some Corsican knives I bought
from a knife maker there, this was my first custom blade. Even my police boot knives won't compare to
these bad puppies. The guys at work agreed this is a amazing blade. Since then I've acquired a couple of the CQBT Ghosts - one for my brother who is Natl Guard and he loved it (see it
here imbedded into a large tire), a Raven which is the nicest small blade I've owned and also own 4 of the 6 folders (see red one, that's mine). Two folders are customized for my guys in
Iraq plus one special friend who is also overseas and is a retired Marine. No more as these are one-of-a-kind.
Dave puts each one together himself and as large as they are the blades are incredibly light!
Shopping is pleasant; one-on-one emails and calls make ordering a good experience. The videos of the crew working on the knives are a treat as seldom is knife-making process made part of the experience. I couldn't be happier with my knives and Dave and Sheri's friendship. Dave's motto is: "We make gear for legends"
My take is that Dave's knives makes him the legend. You may want to get one now.
BTPOOSH!
