Soldiers Angels - Kunimitsu Art Knife

As with all our charity knives, the price this blade brings at auction will be given 100 percent to Soldiers Angels.

We make gear for legends. 

Between our company, DS&S Tactical, Eddie DeLuca of the Hitman Mines and Waterjet Cutting Inc., of Albuquerque, the Kunimitsu Art Knife was made possible. The Kunimitsu was designed by replicating the lines of a famous armor-penetrating tanto made by Kunimitsu, a famous Kamakura era Japanese swordsmith.

The original DS&S design of this knife was intended to bring an ancient battlefield armor-piercing weapon back, and place the slim-line knife back into the hands of modern operators. This art-knife version is a smaller version of the field-ready knife we will eventually produce, but it is made just as tough with traditional materials.

The idea for this particular prototype was, of course, to do a benefit auction via E-Bay Giving Works, which will provide 100-percent of the proceeds to Soldiers' Angels, and subsequently assist some of our servicemen and women.

We are using some of our finest materials and workmanship to create this blade. The knife, made from M390 super steel and cryogenically treated has been hand-engraved along its' entire length with stars and stripes. The handle is carved from red-heart hardwood with stars and stripes as well. When finished, the Kunimitsu will have two white sapphires set into the pommel and the sheath will be completely carved with stars from the remaining piece of red-heart. 100-percent of the proceeds from the auction of this knife will go to Soldiers' Angels.

Our most recent auction to honor the SEALs lost in the Tangi River Valley, Afghanistan, raised $3100 for the Navy Seal Foundation through the auction of a very special nano-infused super steel combat knife. We have hopes that the Kunimitsu Art Knife will do as well at auction for Soldiers' Angels when it is complete.
